Independent cafe chain Grounded has gone into insolvent liquidation.
The coffee shop group, which shut its Thornbury branch at the beginning of the month, is owned by property developer Tobie Holbrook.
The group has cafes in Corsham and Chippenham, in Wiltshire, and , , , , and Redfield in Bristol.
The announcement was made on the official public record site, The Gazette.
Mr Holbrook says it is currently "business as usual at Grounded".
He said: "We are enjoying the sunshine. Regrettably, we have closed two sites in Bristol, Henleaze and Thornbury, that weren’t working for us, but our other eight sites are thriving."
Mr Holbrook launched his first branch in Bristol in January 2008 after deciding to recreate the “welcoming, inviting atmosphere of a living room" in a cafe.
The outlets serve food and cocktails as well as coffee, including pizza, burgers and tapas.

The news comes as the number of "financially distressed" businesses, especially restaurants and bars, rises in Bristol.
The number of struggling eateries rose eight per cent between Q1 and Q2 of 2019 - up to 248.
Paul Wood, partner at Begbies Traynor in Bristol, added: “Businesses continue to be hit hard... there is always a storm brewing on the horizon in the current business climate."
