The four-star accommodation has around 130 bedrooms and a steak restaurant and bar on its site on Cadbury Hill.
The original Cadbury House, which forms the central part of the venue, dates back to 1790 where it served as a private residence and later a country club. The hotel was purchased by Nick Taplin and Simon Matthews-Williams in 2003, with the facility undergoing a 拢28m renovation.
The hotel is now operated under hotel giant Hilton鈥檚 Double Tree brand.
Mr Ireland has more than 20 years experience in the hospitality sector, and was previously general manager at the Aztec Hotel and Spa, near the Aztec West business park on Bristol鈥檚 northern edge.
Mr Ireland said: 鈥淐adbury House has a great reputation across the hospitality and hotel sector. It鈥檚 a phenomenal venue and is a very well-balanced business when you combine the different elements such as the hotel, meeting and conference facilities, restaurant, wedding offering and health club. It鈥檚 a great recipe for success.
鈥淏eing affiliated with the Hilton brand makes its proposition incredibly strong and is one I鈥檒l be looking to build on over the coming months. It鈥檚 regarded as being one of the world鈥檚 best four-star brands and often influences people鈥檚 decisions on where they want to stay.鈥
Mr Ireland added that Cadbury House鈥檚 independent ownership allowed the venue to react 鈥渕uch quicker鈥 to market conditions than other operators.
鈥淭he opportunity to work with Nick was also too good an opportunity to miss,鈥 Mr Ireland said, adding: 鈥淗is vision and energy is second-to-none and I hope to help channel Nick鈥檚 passion to make Cadbury House the venue of choice for both business and leisure travellers from all across the 海角视频.鈥
Mr Ireland succeeds Brady Smith as general manager at Cadbury House. Earlier this year the hotel launched a drive to further strengthen links with local businesses.
