Butcombe Brewing has won a host of accolades at a prestigious regional food and drinks awards ceremony.

Seven craft ales and lagers produced by the brewery, based in the village of Wrington, North Somerset, on the outskirts of Bristol, were recognised at this year’s Taste of the West Awards.

The company received five gold awards for its tipples Butcombe Original, Goram IPA Stateside Session IPA, Adam Henson’s Rare Breed Pale Ale and Bohemia Craft Lager.

It also scooped silver awards for Butcombe Gold and its Underfall Triple Filtered larger.

Marketing consultancy Taste of the West is the largest independent regional food group in the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and was established to promote and support local food and drink producers in the South West.

Its annual awards aims to ensure high standards are maintained and that suppliers in the region are recognised for their work.

Dorset’s Purbeck Ice Cream, Somerset cheesemaker Godminster, Cornish pasty purveyors Ginsters and Thatchers Cider were among the other South West companies to win awards for their products.

Earlier this year Butcombe and its parent company the Jersey-based independent brewers the Liberation Group, were named the best managed pub company for operating an estate that spans across the South West and the Channel Islands.
