Burger King, Pret and KFC reopen limited number of º£½ÇÊÓÆµ branches

Fast food giants Burger King and KFC, and sandwich chain Pret A Manger, have reopened a limited number of º£½ÇÊÓÆµ branches with safety measures in place including social distancing and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).

Burger King and Pret have reopened for takeaway and delivery only, according to , after "taking steps" to make the branches safe for staff and customers.

The companies said dining areas would remain shut as part of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ's lockdown measures.

Katie Evans, Burger King marketing director, said she hoped the re-openings would go "some way to lifting our customers' spirits in these difficult times".

Pret said it was reopening 10 shop kitchens close to hospitals in London, according to The Mirror.

The company said: "This allows us to also get our supply chain up and running to donate food to homeless charities, so we will be donating 7,000 additional meals per week to our homeless charity partners."

Meanwhile, KFC has also reportedly reopened a small number of its eateries for delivery only, while food menus will be selective and fewer staff members will be in the restaurants and will be following social distancing.

A KFC spokesperson told The Mirror: "Over the last week, we've reopened 11 of our restaurants in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.
