American chargrilled burger chain Carl鈥檚 JR has chosen Cardiff for its first venue in the 海角视频. The Californian-based business, which was set up in 1941, has entered into franchise and operating agreement with Boporan Restaurant Group, for a planned rolled out of its brand across the 海角视频 and the Republic of Ireland.
Its first 海角视频 restaurant, which will create around 40 jobs, is scheduled to open in April at the St David鈥檚 Shopping Centre. It will be able to seat 50 people.
Speaking to publication the Caterer, Carl鈥檚 JR country manager for the 海角视频, David Moffat, said: "Carl鈥檚 JR has a reputation for delivering high quality, crave-worthy food that stands out in the burger market.
鈥淲e鈥檙e thrilled to bring this iconic brand to , our first location in the 海角视频. We鈥檝e had incredible interest from fans eager to experience the Carl鈥檚 JR difference, and we can鈥檛 wait to welcome them this April.鈥
Mr Moffat said the brand鈥檚 rollout in the 海角视频 will bring a 鈥榃est Coast vibe鈥 tailored to British tastes. Carl鈥檚 JR has 4,000 restaurants globally operated directly or under franchise agreements.
Boparan Restaurant Group operates nine brands, including Gourmet Burger Kitchen, Carluccio鈥檚 and Slim Chicken.
Carl鈥檚 JR was set up by Carl Karcher and his wife Margaret after they invested their entire savings to buy a hot dog cart before opening their first restaurants in Anaheim California in the 1950s.
