Bristol City has said sports betting brand MansionBet will stand down as the football club’s principal partner at the end of the month.

The news comes after MansionBet’s announcement on Monday (March 7) it will cease trading from March 31, after its parent company Gibraltar-based Mansion Group decided to focus on its online casino brands.

In a statement, the Championship side said its first team shirts would continue to bear MansionBet branding on the front for the remainder of the current season.

The Robins have seven league matches scheduled after March 31, with their 2021/22 season likely to end with an away match at Huddersfield Town on May 7.

The club thanked MansionBet for its support over the last two seasons, during which it has acted as its principal partner and front-of-shirt sponsor.

Christian Block, chief executive of Mansion Group, said: “After careful deliberation, we have decided to cease trading our MansionBet brand. The commercial decision was a difficult one, but it does provide an opportunity to focus on our casino brands, where we have a long history of excelling.

“To minimise impact on consumers, we have ensured our customers' future winnings continue to get paid out, and stakes will be returned regardless of outcome.

“Finally, I would like to thank all our colleagues and partners for building the sportsbook brand, and our loyal customers for their support throughout.”
