A Bristol-based catering business forced to shut down its operations at the start of the coronavirus pandemic last year has continued its recovery by securing a second long-term contract in recent months.

Fosters Events has secured a five-year contract worth £5m with Compton Verney Art Gallery and Park in Warwickshire.

The company, based on the Avonside Industrial Park off Feeder Road, will operate two new catering spaces at the tourist attraction, which is based in a Grade I-listed Georgian mansion surrounded by 120 acres of parkland.

Fosters will serve freshly ground coffee, produced by Warwickshire roasters Monsoon Estates, and food from a converted horsebox to guests exploring the grounds.

The company will also work from the attraction’s kitchen and restaurant space, which is set to be fully refurbished.

Fosters general manager Lulu Curtis-Smith, who previously performed the same role at Prince Charles’ Highgrove estate for over 10 years, and head chef Louise McCrimmon, former executive head chef of Bristol’s Harvey Nichols department store, will oversee the catering operations at Compton Verney.

The deal comes after Fosters landed a seven-year contract in January to provide retail catering at Westonbirt, The National Arboretum near Tetbury in Gloucestershire.

Despite the challenges of the pandemic has posed to the events and hospitality industry, the independent caterer was able to secure £25m of new business during 2020.
