Big-name brands including Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger and Kurt Geiger are the first to be confirmed for Staffordshire's new £160 million shopping village.

Likened to Cheshire Oaks or Bicester Village, McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands is due to open in Cannock early next year.

Now the first 10 brands to sign up for the outlet have been revealed.

They include Reiss, Guess, Ted Baker, Adidas, Le Creuset as well as Calvin Klein, Tommy Hilfiger, Kurt Geiger, Starbucks and Wagamama.

The new shopping village will boast space for 80 brands - which will offer shoppers discounts of up to 60 per cent - and 1,400 car parking spaces.

It comes after work was completed on a major highways project to create access to the multi-million pound facility.

Mike Thomas, centre manager for McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands, said: "As with all McArthurGlen centres, Designer Outlet West Midlands will deliver one of the º£½ÇÊÓƵ's finest retail destinations, with the very best mix of high street, premium, designer and international brands, each of them a well-known and much-loved household name.

"We're also creating 1,000 retail jobs for the local community, so we're delighted to be announcing this first set of brands both for our future visitors and those excited about working at the centre."
