Another big fashion chain has added its name to the brands moving into the £168 million extension to one of the country’s busiest out-of-town shopping parks.

H&M has submitted planning documents saying it will be moving into the Fosse Park extension, which is close to completion on the southern outskirts of Leicester.

Fosse Park is expanding onto a neighbouring site previously owned by the Everards brewery. Everards has moved over the road.

Next, TK Maxx, Clarks, The Perfume Shop, Soho Coffee and Costa Coffee are opening units at the 140,000-sq ft extension. Nando’s, KFC, Greggs and EE are also moving in.

They will join Mike Ashley’s Frasers Group, which is planning an upmarket mega-store, part of which will be dedicated to its Flannels brand and an esports gaming arena.

In 2019 Debenhams pulled out of plans to build a new store there. It subsequently closed its department store in the city’s Highcross – even before the wider Debenhams business fell into administration.

H&M, which also sells homewares, has two Leicester city centre stores, one in the Highcross and another in Humberstone Gate.

Toni Galli, country manager for H&M º£½ÇÊÓƵ & IE said: “We are very excited to be opening a brand new store at Fosse Park this spring.
