An on-demand grocery delivery service says it has recruited 4,000 new roles after sales soared by 300% during the Covid lockdown.
Cheshire-based Beelivery.com, which promises to deliver customers' orders within 60 minutes of them being made, said it has expanded its delivery fleet from 15,000 drivers to 19,000 - and "has no plans on slowing down".
The Congleton company claims to be the º£½ÇÊÓƵ’s largest on-demand grocery business, covering a larger geographical area than any other of its type, with the last six months having been "busier than ever".
Lee Parkinson, Beelivery CEO and Co-founder explains: “Since lockdown started in March and people were shielding and self-isolating in their own homes, our quick delivery service proved to be a lifesaver for many people across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ.

“We launched the company in 2015 to support people with limited mobility, and for those who simply appreciate the convenience and quick turnaround of a grocery delivery, but we have been able to provide an essential service to thousands of people during lockdown.â€
Beelivery delivers products from fresh and frozen meals, snacks and alcohol, and home cleaning products.
Chairman and co-founder Yazan Bin Mohammad Chairman said: “Due to our unique logistics model, with immense network of localised drivers, we operate the largest nationwide service of this kind, supporting cities, towns and villages º£½ÇÊÓƵ-wide with delivery of grocery essentials, as well as other confectionary and snacking items.
"To be of additional assistance at this time of self-isolation, we have expanded our delivery fleet further to ensure that we meet the vastly growing demand.â€
