Beaconwood Lodge is the perfect place to escape from it all

You can't lick this lovely Cadbury lodge as a place to escape it all

The name Cadbury is synonymous with Bournville. But even a family as dedicated to the model business they had created as they were liked to get away from it all.

They just didn’t go very far.

Beaconwood Lodge is in the Lickey Hills. It was built in 1904/5 as the lodge to the summerhouse of George Cadbury.

It is at the end of a long private drive, overlooking its own meadow. before and is for sale leasehold with just over 93 years left to run.

It is being sold by the Bournville Village Trust which is owned by the Cadbury family.

Today it is a much larger house than it was when it was first built as the vendors have extended and converted the original stables to provide accommodation within the main house. There is yet more opportunity to convert the courtyard of work and store rooms that link the house and garage (subject to planning permission).

Inside it has three receptions rooms with an open fire to the drawing room and gas-fired log burner in the sitting room.

, and the master bedroom upstairs mean that wonderful views can really be appreciated.
