Bath Ales has announced it has extended its long-running sponsorship of English Premiership side Bath Rugby for a further two seasons.

The brewer, which is headquartered north west of Bath in Warmley, South Gloucestershire, began sponsoring the club in 2014.

The deal will see the continued branding of the west stand of the team’s ground The Rec, which was renamed the Gem Stand after the brewer’s flagship amber ale in 2016.

Gem will continue as Bath Rugby’s official beer with sponsored branding also continuing at the ground’s Swift Half bar.

As part of the ongoing sponsorship deal rugby fans will be offered a matchday selection of beer brands from Bath Ales’ Cornish parent company St Austell Brewery, once coronavirus restrictions are lifted and they are able to return to watch live games.

Andrew Turner, managing director of beer and brands at St Austell Brewery said: “This is our eighth year working with Bath Rugby and during that time our partnership has gone from strength to strength.

“Not only does the relationship drive great engagement with our beer brands, but it gives us the chance to engage with our local community, right in the very heart of the city.

“We can’t wait to reconnect with Bath Rugby supporters again as soon as we’re able to, and serve them our fresh draught beer, as they make up for lost time and immerse themselves in live sport once again.
