Australian coffee chain Jamaica Blue has opened a new store in Belfast city centre with the creation of 20 new jobs.

The firm’s second outlet in the city, located at Corn Market, will sit alongside its Forestside Shopping Centre location and marks an investment of £450,000 in fit out.

Jamaica Blue said it plans further openings in Northern Ireland as it mounts a global expansion to build on its 170 current locations spread across seven countries. It confirmed plans to open a new outlet in Belfast under its Muffin Break brand, a so-called “café bakery”.

Head of Estate for Jamaica Blue º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, Josh Nixon, said the opening marks the next stage of growth for the business.

“We are thrilled to be opening our second NI location in Corn Market, bringing premium coffee and contemporary café dining to the heart of Belfast City Centre,” he said. “Jamaica Blue is built on great coffee, fresh and exciting dishes and excellent customer service and with this new prime location, our friendly and passionate team are ready to introduce new customers in Belfast City Centre to the Jamaica Blue experience.”
