Asda releases list of 28 sites in England and Wales where new 'On The Move' stores will open

Asda has revealed the full list of 28 places where it will open petrol station convenience stores this year.

The supermarket giant trialled “Asda On the Move" at five locations in recent months.

Now Mohsin and Zuber Issa - who bought the grocer last year - will launch another 28 stores at EG Group forecourts, a brand also owned by by them.

There will be move to follow with 200 º£½ÇÊÓÆµ sites planned by the end of next year and extra stores again in 2023.

Each store will be up to 3,000 square foot in size and stock up to 2,500 products, including a selection of Asda’s premium ‘Extra Special’ range.

It will also stock a more extensive range of fresh produce and chilled lines than is traditionally found on fuel forecourts.

There will be a difference in the price of products sold at the convenience stores compared to the supermarket's larger stores though.
