Amazon confirm location for first Clicks and Mortar high street pop-up shop in Wales

It is part of a pilot to support online retailers move into the high street

Online retail giant Amazon has confirmed the venue of the first Clicks and Mortar pop-up shop in Wales.

Clicks and Mortar is a collaboration between Amazon, Enterprise Nation, Square and Direct Line for Business  -  giving  more than 100 small online businesses their first taste of a high street presence.

The Cardiff Clicks and Mortar  at the St David's shopping centre, will be the second in a series, following the now operational pop-up in Manchester, which will open across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ over the next 12 months.

It will open on July 22.

The Cardiff venue is in partnership with shopping centre group Intu and Land Securities, which jointly own the St David's Centre.

Emma Jones founder of Enterprise Nation said: "The launch of our first store in Manchester has demonstrated there is an appetite amongst online-only brands to test out physical retail, and that shoppers like to buy from small firms and meet them face-to-face

“We’ve already got a number of online retailers interested in trading during our six weeks in Cardiff, and we expect to hear from many more. Sellers can simply move in and plug in their products to start making sales.

"They are provided with a shop, payment solution, furnishings and advice on topics from visual merchandising to social media. We are trying to reduce the friction of small businesses selling on the High Street and we’re delighted to be bringing the concept to Cardiff.”
