Aldi has extended its partnership with Nottinghamshire fresh fruit and vegetable grower Hammonds Produce.
The new deal will see Hammonds, based in Arnold, become Aldi鈥檚 sole supplier of rhubarb.
Its British rhubarb now on sale in all Aldi stores across the country.
The fresh produce grower has also worked with Aldi to introduce and invest in a new, more sustainable packaging for the rhubarb.
By adding more air holes to the plastic film, Hammonds has created packaging that helps keep the product fresh for longer, while also saving the use of around 400 kg of non-recyclable plastic each year.
A spokesman said: 鈥淗ammonds鈥 long-term partnership with Aldi has helped the grower enjoy significant growth over the years, as well as continued investment in new product innovation.
鈥淭he new contract will see the family-led business nearly double the amount of rhubarb it provides to the supermarket, while continuing to supply around 4,500 tonnes of other 海角视频 grown vegetables each year.鈥

Aldi said it is spending an additional 拢3.5 billion per year with British suppliers over the next five years, which is said will help hundreds of British businesses continue to grow and invest for the future.
