An historic North Wales hotel has been closed by administrators.
Caer Rhun Hall in the Conwy Valley was bought by Northern Powerhouse Developments(NPD) - owned by Gavin Woodhouse - in 2015 for £1m.
NPD were undertaking a project to transform the site from an accountancy school and wedding venue to a hotel.
But the high court appointed Philip Francis Duffy and Sarah Helen Bell, of Duff & Phelps Ltd, as
It had been kept open and continued to trade but today administrators said a decision had been made to close the hotel.
A spokeswoman for Duff and Phelps said: "The joint administrators for Caer Rhun Hall, part of the Northern Powerhouse Developments Group have today taken the difficult decision to cease trading at the Conwy Valley hotel, effective immediately.
"Unfortunately, due to the financial position of the hotel and a number of health and safety issues on site which cannot be remediated without further funding, this option is no longer viable and for the safety of staff and guests, the hotel has been closed.
"All staff have been informed this morning and will be paid in full.

"There are a number of wedding bookings with the hotel currently and the joint administrators are now liaising directly with those parties to offer a suitable alternative.
"This is not a decision that has been taken lightly and Duff & Phelps is working closely with all stakeholders to ensure the best outcome at this stage."
NPD owns four hotels in North Wales, Caer Rhun, and Belmont, Llandudno Bay and Queens hotels in Llandudno.
The other hotels continue to trade and administrators said they are not affected by today's decision.
Caer Rhun Hall dates from 1895 and was built for a Major-General Gough, who was Lieutenant Governor of Jersey between 1904 to 1910.
Ronald Anderson founded an accountancy school at the site nearly 70 years ago but this closed in 2015 and the site sold by his son John Anderson.
