One of Stoke-on-Trent's largest gyms has undergone a £400,000 make-over in time for New Year.

PureGym's Fenton branch has seen studios, changing rooms and function areas upgraded and improved as part of the eight-week renovation, which started in November.

Manager Carl Wallace told : "This is great for existing members. Some of them have been here for seven years so it’s a pay back to them for being loyal members.

"And for new members looking to join, we hope a tour around here will sway them to join.

"Investing money into the gym is really important to the company so it can be kept up-to-date for our users."

The 38-year-old, from Stafford, added: "Both changing rooms have had a total renovation and we have a new functional area. We’ve also had new flooring for the free weights area and a new fitness studio and spin studio with LED lights.

"There's also a new colour scheme to give the gym a slightly different feel and freshen it up.

"We didn't want to close the gym so we closed off different areas during the refurbishment.”
