40 new jobs as Argentinian restaurant Sonrisa plans spring opening in Leicester

Restaurant and bar is offshoot of the established Fiesta Del Asado steak restaurants in Birmingham and Solihull

Sonrisa is opening in Leicester

A new Argentinian restaurant hopes to cash in on the economy reopening this spring.

Sonrisa is set to open in Leicester on May 17 – the day the Government has indicated indoor hospitality should be able to start welcoming guests again.

The business is set to create 40 jobs when it opens in the city’s St Martins, in a former bank unit that was most recently occupied by deli Delilah Fine Foods.

The Argentinian restaurant and bar is being launched by Birmingham-based Lasan Group, and will be an offshoot of its established Fiesta Del Asado steak restaurants in Birmingham and Solihull.

It will serve Argentinian-inspired food along with cocktails and South American wines and elsewhere in South America.

The group is now looking to fill a number of roles, including a restaurant manager with wine and cocktail experience, and restaurant supervisors, also with wine and cocktail experience.

Restaurant service team members with high volume food experience are also being sought, as are bar team members, with wine and cocktail experience. A sous chef, chef de partie, commis chef and kitchen porter are also needed.

The total team size will be around 40.
