After an almost impossible year for the majority of retail firms, it's no wonder their struggles continue to hit the headlines.

The pandemic has resulted in thousands upon thousands of job losses, with the entire face of the high street set to change as a result.

It's not been negative for all however, and a switch in the way we shop has seen online giants such as Boohoo and Asos thrive.

Despite the º£½ÇÊÓƵ having been locked down since January meaning no non-essential shops allowed to open, there's been a surprising amount of activity in recent days.

Here are 11 updates detailing the biggest stories from the high street that you may have missed from this week:

1. Retail sales rebound as shoppers buy online

Retail sales bounced back to growth last month following a bleak January as swathes of high-street stores remained shut, according to new figures.

The BRC-KPMG retail sales monitor for February revealed that total º£½ÇÊÓƵ sales increased by 1% against the same month last year.

It came after trading slid in January after non-essential stores were temporarily shuttered as part of the latest nationwide lockdown, as PA reported.
