William Davis Homes is laying the foundations to what it is calling one of its most ambitious development programmes in its 85 year history.
The Leicestershire housebuilder has opened two new sites and is planning to open four more by the end of the year.
Management said it signals a major confidence boost for the Midlands economy following a challenging time during the pandemic.
Sales director Steve Rush said the company – which turned over almost £117 million in the year to May 31, 2020 – was emerging from the pandemic in a healthy position and was looking forward to a bright future, with construction currently underway on 10 sites across the Midlands.
He said: “The new programme of development is the culmination of years of hard work and detailed planning by everyone connected with the company.
“I am delighted we are still on track to deliver these high quality new homes.
“Great credit must go to our loyal workforce for their dedication in these challenging times. Our new developments are in fantastic locations and are ideal for families, couples or individuals.”
The latest site to open is in Castle Donington, with 183 two, three and four bedroom properties, 55 of which have been built in the initial phase.

This summer has also seen the launch of Lace Fields on the edge of Ruddington village in Nottinghamshire. The first phase includes 57 properties as part of an overall total of 180.
Over the coming months, four more sites will be launched in Leicestershire and Warwickshire, with 33 homes set to go up on the first at Willowbrook in Loughborough.
Further phases are being built at existing developments in Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Worcestershire, including allocations of affordable housing.
William Davis Homes is a privately-owned business with around 400 employees.
