Ending the year on a high, Leicester-based commercial property consultants Phillips Sutton has helped a client acquire a 30,000 sq ft warehouse unit in Whetstone, Leicester.

The unit, which is due to become vacant in January, was identified by Phillips Sutton as a "good opportunity" for client Whetstone Estates, to add to its existing portfolio on the Ashville Trading Estate.

Sam Sutton, director at the commercial property consultancy in Stoneygate, said: "The unit offers a number of possibilities, including letting the building as a whole or in three separate units.

"Our client knows the site well so when we identified the potential acquisition of what is a high-quality building, we were keen to conclude a deal as swiftly as possible.

"We are delighted to have completed the deal as we close out the year and look forward to offering Unit 11 as a whole or in separate units at a market rent once our client has completed a refurbishment programme."

Matthew Wade, director at Nottingham-based Musson Liggins, which acted for seller, said: "We are delighted to have sold the premises quickly to an established regional property investor who will no doubt breathe new life into the building.

"The speed of the transaction underlines the continued strength of the Industrial property market."
