Robin Johnson of Marketing Derby

Two new faces have joined the team at Marketing Derby, the inward investment agency set up to promote Derby and Derbyshire.

Robin Johnson, who was until recently business editor at the Derby Telegraph and East Midlands correspondent for BusinessLive reporter, has joined as press and PR executive.

Amy Burton has been appointed as inward investment executive.

Robin spent 23 years at Derby’s daily paper, most of that time on the business desk.

During his newspaper career he won numerous national and regional industry awards, which included successes at the Regional Press Awards and the Midlands Media Awards.

As recently as July he was named local/regional journalist of the year at the Headlinemoney Awards.

In his new role, he will help raise the profile of the city and county, develop and deliver Marketing Derby’s business news coverage and help promote the city and county to investors.

Robin said: “In my previous role at the Derby Telegraph, I wrote numerous stories about Marketing Derby and the tireless work the team devotes to putting this area on the investment map.
