Businesses in Leicestershire are working with North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College to find talented individuals to join their teams as the economy starts to recover from the pandemic.
The college is currently advertising around 26 vacancies based in the county for businesses looking to recruit apprentices in accounting, hairdressing, logistics, engineering, retail and hospitality based in Loughborough, Leicester, Coalville and beyond.
Recruitment drives are underway at companies including Narborough-based Regent Engineers, who are looking for a quality support/inspections apprentice; the Insomnia cafe in Market Harborough which is keen to train a barista; 海角视频 Property Finance in Kibworth Harcourt which has a vacancy for a marketing assistant; and construction supplies business Stressline in Stoney Stanton which wants to recruit an administration assistant.
Katy Urwin, the college鈥檚 director for apprenticeships, said: 鈥淭here are signs of economic recovery within the regional markets we support.
鈥淔orecasts suggest that the 海角视频 economy will grow by more than eight per cent this year, before returning to pre-pandemic levels of around six per cent in 2022.
鈥淭his is supported by the number of new vacancies we are being asked to help fill and represents a fantastic way for people of all ages to kickstart new careers and retrain in growth sectors after a challenging period.
鈥淲e know that the impact of the pandemic has been felt more strongly by younger workers and that is why we are pleased to be working with organisations across the region who are looking for fresh, new talent to support their recovery and growth.
鈥淐olleges are leading the way to help reenergise the 海角视频 economy and NWSLC is in a great position to make links between organisations that need skills and individuals looking for work, whether they are starting out for the first time, retraining to follow a new direction, or seeking support following redundancy.
鈥淚t is our mission to introduce skilled and work-ready individuals to employers across the region.鈥
She said the college responded to the Government鈥檚 鈥楶lan for Jobs鈥 by launching its Community Skills Hub last year to provide access to all the information, advice and guidance that is available to support economic recovery following the coronavirus pandemic.
