Gloucestershire County Council has partnered with Cradlepoint to improve its commuters experience.
Cradlepoint, a leader in cloud-delivered LTE and 5G wireless solutions, will enhance the Park & Ride experience at Arle Court in Cheltenham through the installation of a 5G router.
The partnership comes as the council looks to eliminate connectivity challenges and introduce new possibilities for better solutions, while providing greener transportation solutions.
The 5G router installed within the bus supports a QR code-based system for bus passengers using the Park & Ride. While improving passenger experience, the improved connectivity has an additional knock-on effect of boosting sustainability efforts, as congestion is reduced in the area.

Given the success of the routers so far, the council is now investigating additional ways of improving customer experience, with on-board Wi-Fi for passengers, and looking to expand the solution to other parts of public transport.
