Gary Headland is stepping down as the chairman of Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce

Mr Headland, who recently resigned from his role as chief executive at the Lincoln College Group to take up a different position outside the county, has served as the chairman since early 2019. The chamber said he will leave the post at the annual general meeting in December.

He took over from Lincolnshire Co-op chief executive Ursula Lidbetter, having been a member of the board for some years.

The chamber is now looking for a new chairman or woman to lead the organisation in “supporting Lincolnshire businesses to grow and succeed”.

Simon Beardsley, chief executive of the Lincolnshire Chamber, said: “We are forever grateful to Gary for all his hard work and support he has given us over the years, it really has been invaluable.

“I encourage business leaders across all sectors to consider applying for this role, which brings with it a lot of exciting opportunities and the chance to really make a difference to the Lincolnshire business community.

“We wish Gary all the best in his future endeavours.”

Mr Headland said: “Whilst I am sad to be moving on, I have no doubt my successor will be able to continue the good work we are doing.
