Avant Homes has bought 15 acres of land in Retford for £43m of housing

A housebuilding firm has bought 15 acres of land to build 187 homes with a value of £43 million.

Avant Homes has bought the land in North Road, on the edge of Retford, Notts, having secured planning permission last month.

It will form part of Bassetlaw District Council’s planned 440-home Trinity Farm Urban Extension.

The development, named Trinity Fields, will have 18 styles of property, ranging from two-bedroom mid-terrace houses to four-bedroom detached properties.

Groundworks are due to start in April with the first homes set to go on sale in May and the showhomes ready for in October.

The first residents are expected to move in at the start of 2022 and the approximate build length of the development will be four years.

Of the 187 homes, 25 per cent will be designated to affordable housing. In addition to providing high-quality new-build homes, Avant Homes will commit a community contribution of £826,000 to local education, public transport, an open green space, and a library.

Avant Homes Central managing director Stuart Rowlands said: “We’re always searching for excellent land opportunities in the region and the new Trinity Fields development will become a landmark development in our portfolio.
