Approval tipped for two 51-storey towers with almost 1,000 apartments

Manchester City Council is set to vote on the plans next week

Plans for pair of 51-storey towers housing almost 1,000 apartments have been recommended to be approved next week.

Renaker is behind the scheme earmarked for land in Great Jackson Street, Manchester.

The city council is expected to vote on the application at a meeting on Thursday, March 17.

If backed, 988 flats would be created as well as 296 car parking spaces.

The site is bounded by Great Jackson Street, Pond Street and Owen Street and is adjacent to Deansgate Square which features the 64-storey South Tower and 50-storey East Tower.

Each tower would include 494 apartments as well as a residents’ lounge and gym.

The uppermost levels of each tower would contain eight three-bed duplex penthouses.
