30 of the region’s biggest firms hunting for workers

Jobseekers urged to ‘shop for a job’ at unique job market event

Loughborough MP Jane Hunt

Some of the region’s biggest companies will be looking for potential recruits at a two-day jobs fair next week.

Representatives of 30 firms will be at the event running from 9am to 4pm on August 31 and September 1.

Employers joining the line-up will include DHL, Adey Steel, Imago hotels, Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment and Verdi Home Improvements.

The free jobs fair – no appointments are necessary – has been organised by Loughborough MP Jane Hunt, Loughborough College and Loughborough University.

It will take place in Loughborough Market Place, while Loughborough Careers & Enterprise Hub, which is in the town centre, will also be open to offer careers advice, information about education and training as well as expert advice on starting a business.

Jane Hunt said: “In place of market traders selling fresh fruit, there will be employers offering jobs! By utilising the market stalls as well as the amazing new Careers and Enterprise Hub, we have been able to put on an exciting event which will help young people with careers advice.

“As well as having local employers in attendance, young people will be able to receive tailored advice from trained advisers in the Careers and Enterprise Hub.

“We have put on a unique package of events and I’d like to thank Loughborough College for all their hard work in putting on this fantastic event.”
