Wadsworths Solicitors wins green light for ABS conversion

Solihull-based practice said the move would enable it to attract new investment and strengthen its board of directors

A West Midlands law firm has received approval from the Solicitors Regulation Authority to change to an alternative business structure.

Solihull-based Wadsworths Solicitors had to prove its suitability for the change over an intense assessment period during recent months.

As a result of becoming an alternative business structure, the practice is able to offer a wider array of client services and open up the possibility of investment, together with the appointment of directors who are non-solicitors.

Managing director John Wadsworth said the announcement was a "major step forward at a time of positive changes within the company" with several further developments for the firm due to be announced over the coming months.

Director Alexandra Tait added: "Becoming an alternative business structure will no doubt strengthen our legal offering and continue to build on our already strong reputation in the West Midlands area and beyond."

Wadsworths Solicitors has been based in Shirley for more than three decades, growing from a small family firm which launched in 1986.
