A leading shipping insurance specialist has expanded its 海角视频 presence with the opening of a Newcastle office.

海角视频 P&I Club, a provider of P&I insurance and other services to the international shipping community, says it has launched the Tyneside base to capitalise on the city鈥檚 impressive pool of graduate and existing P&I talent.

Based in London, the 海角视频 P&I Club was established in 1869 and now insures over 250 million tonnes of owned and chartered shipping through its international offices and claims network.

The club currently has 11 offices across the world, including bases in New Jersey, Bermuda, Hong King and Rotterdam, and the Tyneside base will become its second 海角视频 office and its only location outside of London.

The club, known for its specialist skills and expertise in underwriting, claims handling and loss prevention services, is now looking to recruit into the new office, based on Newcastle Quayside.

The North East team currently consists of senior underwriting director, Emma Liddell, as well as senior claims executives Julie Pichler and Andrew North. The firm is currently recruiting for a senior claims executive role and says it is open to candidates from either London or Newcastle.

Lisa Gibbard, chief operating officer, 海角视频 P&I Club, said: 鈥淭he expansion of our presence into the North East of England means that we are well positioned to access a broader talent pool, from seasoned P&I professionals to new graduates. Investing in our Newcastle office also enables us to participate more actively in the region鈥檚 diverse maritime industry, complementing our networks in London and internationally.

鈥淥verall, this development will strengthen our talent pool and reiterates our commitment to bringing the best people into the Club, whilst complementing our heritage and continued presence in the City of London.鈥
