A º£½ÇÊÓƵ law firm has announced plans to launch its first office in the Midlands.

Spencer West has recruited a team of 14 staff, including three partners, to open the new operation in Birmingham city centre.

The practice is headquartered in London and has offices across the º£½ÇÊÓƵ as well as in Europe, Africa and the Americas where it employs around 200 partners globally. The firm was only formed five years ago.

The three Birmingham-based partners have all joined from law firm Axiom and are immigration expert Stephen Kong and property solicitors Richard Kong and Peter Lin.

The firm's co-founders said they expected further growth in the region at its new base in Colmore Row including additional room for further hires.

Spencer West said it allowed partners to keep a greater share of fees when compared with traditional models of running a legal practice.

It is one of a number of fast-growing legal businesses with a similar model and has also just completed its first acquisition by buying out London-based private wealth boutique Hieron.
