Two law firms have announced moves to new offices in the North East.

Sweeney Miller Law has cemented its commitment to the region by expanding into new offices in Sunderland, while national practice Knights has said it will join the firms moving into the new Bank House development in Newcastle. Sweeney Miller, which provides legal services to businesses and individuals from its offices in Sunderland and Newcastle, said it has seen a period of significant growth, in both staff and client numbers across the region and beyond. As a result, the growth has prompted a move across the River Wear into new offices, to give it room for further expansion.

The new base – Sweeney Miller House – is based on the riverside close to the site of the forthcoming Crown Works Studios development, placing the business at the heart of planned regeneration in the city. The office has undergone a significant refurbishment to bring it in line with the firm’s Newcastle office and has a much larger footprint at nearly 10,000 sq ft, as well meeting rooms, a new boardroom and event space and break-out areas.

Sweeney Miller Law managing partner Surbhi Vedhara said: “While our office in Mowbray Villas has served us well for many years, our continued growth of both team and workload has provided us with an exciting reason to look to the next chapter of Sweeney Miller Law and move to premises that can facilitate our ongoing expansion. We’ve always had a base in Sunderland, and the new facilities will allow us to continue providing excellent service to our clients in the area, the region, and further afield.

“We are excited about the opportunities that Sweeney Miller House presents for us and very much look forward to what the future holds.”
