Two of Cardiff's best-known music venues have come new ownership with a commitment to supporting grassroots artists and music fans. The Globe and Tramshed have been acquired by newly-created venture Propaganda Independent Venues.
The company, set up by Dan Ickowitz-Seidler and Richard Buck, have acquired the entire venue portfolio of TEG º£½ÇÊÓƵ. The deal also sees them taking over the Camden Assembly (formerly legendary indie venue Barfly), XOYO London, and XOYO Birmingham. The value of the deal has not been disclosed.
The new owners are looking for local bands and artists to apply for slots to play as support acts for bigger name artists at Tramshed and the Globe. They are also keen to work with local artists and creatives outside of music.
The acquisitions brings ownership of the Tramshed full circle having originally been jointly owned by the now directors of Propaganda Independent Venues when it launched a decade ago.
Mr Buck once also owned the Globe. Tramshed has a capacity for 1,000 concert-goers while The Globe can host up to 350.
Mr Ickowitz-Seidler said: "I am really excited to have reacquired Tramshed, our original venue that Rich and I created 10 years ago, along with The Globe.
Both venues have such an important place in the Welsh live music scene.
It is a challenging time for grassroots venues and we want to support the touring ecosystem as much as possible
"We also want to engage with the local community to bring the events they want to see to the venues.
We are committed to bringing more artists to Cardiff as well as larger acts whenever we can."
Mr Buck also previously owned the Mill, which became XOYO Birmingham.
Propaganda Independent Venues with also confirmed a partnership Ghostwriter who will support the operational delivery of the acquired venues.
They said that local promoters will benefit from a new, fairer ticketing allocation model while artists will not be charged merchant fees.
They added: "This will support the local creative community and provide a positive experience for everyone involved in bringing music and the arts to two of Wales ' best independent live music venues."
Staff at the two Cardiff music venues have transferred over to the new owners.
