Bruntwood SciTech, joint venture between Bruntwood and Legal & General, appointed Dr Kath Mackay as managing director of Alderley Park - the 海角视频’s largest single-site life science campus.
Dr Mackay assumes her new role in October 2019, taking over from Dr Chris Doherty, who has been the managing director for the last five years.

She joins from the 海角视频’s innovation agency Innovate 海角视频 and she is currently director for Ageing Society, Health and Nutrition.
She said: "The new generation of companies and research organisations based at the park are actively engaged in high value science and tech discovery and collectively build on Alderley Park’s internationally-recognised reputation.

University of Manchester
The University of Manchester has appointed Dr Robert Eden, managing director of 海角视频-based Rawwater Engineering Company, as an honorary professor in the faculty of science and engineering, within the department of earth and environmental sciences.

Dr Eden’s appointment, from August 1, is in recognition of his work in the field of well integrity and geomicrobiology.
He is currently leading a team of scientists and engineers at Rawwater in the development of a range of new alloys to provide secure, high integrity, metal seals for the repair of leaking oil wells and leak-containment in the nuclear industry.
He said: “I am truly delighted to have been made an honorary professor within the department of earth and environmental sciences at the University of Manchester.
"Thoroughly understanding human impact on the geosphere and biosphere is essential to the future wellbeing of our planet, and I look forward to working with the Department’s distinguished staff, as well as assisting its students who, no-doubt, will become the next generation of leading scientists and entrepreneurs in these fields.”
Joseph Holt
The great-great-great grandson of Manchester brewer Joseph Holt has joined his sister at the 170-year-old business.
Andrew Kershaw will join his sister, brewer Jane Kershaw, where he will be trained for six months in all aspects of the business, which has remained in the same family for six generations.

Their father, chief executive of Joseph Holt Richard Kershaw, says he is delighted that another member of the family will be coming to work alongside him.
He said: “I spent 20 happy years working with my father Peter.
"He used to say that I sped him up and he slowed me down, but it seemed to be an effective way to work and I'm looking forward to continuing the tradition, especially since this is the first time in Holt's history that a set of siblings from the family have worked together."
The brewery was established in 1849 by Joseph Holt and now has 126 pubs and employs 930 people.
Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art
Centre for Chinese Contemporary Art (CFCCA) has announced its board of directors has appointed Lisa Yam as its new chair.
Ms Yam is a solicitor and partner in the firm of Brindle & Yam Solicitors.
She also served as vice-president of the Federation of Chinese Associations of Manchester from 2012, before becoming its President in 2016 – the first time a woman has occupied either role in the federation’s 27 year history.
She said: “I’m so thrilled to have been appointed Chairperson at CFCCA, particularly at a time when the organisation is entering a period of exciting development – both in its growth in new team members, and its continued commitment to being a dynamic and valuable resource to the local community and international partners.

Clarke Willmott
Mandie Sewa has joined law firm Clarke Willmott as a partner, where she will also assume the role of head of business immigration.
Ms Sewa, who has over 19 years’ experience in 海角视频 immigration and nationality law, will be heading the business immigration team, working across all of the firm’s seven regional offices.

Manchester-based mobile data capture specialist, WorkMobile, has appointed Che Knights as its new software developer.

Pierce Chartered Accountants
Pierce Chartered Accountants has appointed former banker Simon Raine as an advisor to its board of directors.
Mr Raine joins the Blackburn-based firm from Swedish bank Handelsbanken, where he oversaw 12 north west branches.

Leep Utilities
Multi-utility platform Leep Utilities has expanded its northern team with the appointment of Ben Heath as project leader for the north.
His new role will see him responsible for overseeing delivery on the northern sites, ensuring contractors are adhering to standards and providing the right documentation and then being the final point of call before the sites are energised.
Mr Heath joins the business from BGS Utilities where he has been a Senior Project Manager since 2015.
Managing director of Leep Utilities Louise Manfredi said: "It is fantastic to have Ben joining the business at such a significant time; over the past few months Leep Utilities have made fantastic strides towards providing a full multi-utility offering."
Cirrus
Manchester-founded international leadership consultancy Cirrus has appointed Tim Jones as head of operations.
In the role, he will lead the operations team across the consultancy’s London, Wilmslow and Melbourne offices, continuing to help the business’s global clients transform their organisations.
Mr Jones joins from management consultants Collinson Grant.
