A South West-based insurance firm has said it is on course for one of its “best ever” years after growth that has seen it add 40 staff over the past two years.

Independent broker A-One operates throughout the º£½ÇÊÓƵ but has most of its offices in Dorset and Hampshire.

The firm said it had seen steady growth in sales, including in commercial, property and personal lines policies in the first 10 months of the year, and that it was set to exceed all targets by the end of the year.

Operations director Sarah Eades said while there had been growth in all areas throughout the pandemic, including in life insurance, the business had taken on new recruits, including at its head office in Ringwood, to manage the extra demand.

Ms Eades said: “Our financial year ends in March but we already know that this is going to be a very strong year for the group. We have smashed our targets inside the first nine months of the year and February and March are historically our busiest times of the year”.

A-One said that while recruitment had been a “challenge” as demand increased, its adoption of a hybrid model of co-working last summer - which only requires staff to come into its offices for two days a week - had proven to be a “popular incentive” for new recruits.

Ms Eades said the company was “proud” to recognise the work-life balance needs of its employees.
