Newcastle software giant Sage Plc has appointed a new director to lead the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland team after announcing the departure of Sabby Gill.

Mr Gill has led the company’s 2,000-strong º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland team for just under two years, having joined in October 2018, just over two months after his appointment was announced.

He is now leaving the company for a new role, Sage revealed in a statement.

He has been replaced by Paul Struthers, who becomes EVP and managing director, º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland, who Sage said will now help guide º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland’s SMEs into a technology-led recovery.

Mr Struthers previously led Sage’s global Medium Segment team and before that was the managing director of the company’s Canadian business.

He has more than 20 years of technology leadership experience at Sage, Amdocs and RSA and will be moving to the º£½ÇÊÓƵ from his native Toronto as he joins the º£½ÇÊÓƵ and Ireland team at the beginning of October.

The company said Mr Struthers joins at a critical juncture for the global economy and for Sage’s customers.
