Birmingham-based law firm Shakespeares has broken through the £50 million barrier for the first time after it again saw record turnover.

Figures for 2013-14 saw it achieve its 19th consecutive record-breaking year, with turnover up by 25 per cent compared to 2012-13.

The expanding law firm is currently one of the fastest-growing on the country.

In 2013 Shakespeares saw two mergers, the first with Leicester-based planning specialists Marrons and the second with Stratford/Coventry-based social housing experts Newsome Vaughan.

Shakespeares also made a number of additional investments, including new premises for its large Leicester office.

More recently its growth has included a series of senior hires, with 12 new partners being appointed during the year.

The firm said it is set on achieving further expansion going forward.

Shakespeares’ CEO, Paul Wilson, said: “The firm has delivered an excellent financial performance and will continue to expand.
