A senior figure at the North East鈥檚 largest business organisation is leaving in the New Year.
Jonathan Walker is policy director at the North East England Chamber of Commerce and has worked at the organisation for 13 years. He is leaving in February to take up a position at the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives.
Chamber chief executive John McCabe, who took up office in October after the retirement of James Ramsbotham, said: 鈥淛onathan will join the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives in February 2022. He will leave us with my gratitude for a fine job on behalf of our members and with our team鈥檚 best wishes for his future.

鈥淐ampaigns, policy and knowledge have always been a core feature of the Chamber鈥檚 offer to its members. We remain absolutely committed to working with the business community as well as regional and national leaders in the public and third sectors, academia, health, culture and policing to deliver a stronger and more inclusive North East economy.

Mr McCabe said the Chamber had begun the process of recruiting a new policy director.
In a message on social media, Mr Walker said: 鈥淚t鈥檚 tough to leave such a great team but really excited about the opportunity and have no doubt the Chamber will continue to go from strength to strength.
