The Flying Start programme, now in its 18th year at the University of Newcastle, has been launched in association with Alliance Manchester Business School at the University and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

PwC also holds the programme at Henley Business School at the University of Reading, in its seventh year, and Nottingham University Business School, in its fifth year.

The four-year partnership degree programme will see students undertake a BSc Honours in business accounting with a year in industry, incorporating three paid work placements with PwC.

The first cohort of around 60 students will start in September 2020, with recruitment due to begin when UCAS opens on September 4.

Louise Farrar, PwC head of student recruitment, said: “These programmes have provided a successful career path in to PwC for over 750 graduates since their launch so we clearly have the recipe right.”

“Creating different routes in to professional services is vital for its future success, attracting and retaining talent is a key focus for the firm to ensure we future proof our business so we can continue to solve important problems for our clients”.
