Plymouth mortgage broker wins 'prestigious' national award

Ocean Equity Release specialises in helping homeowners over the age of 55 to release funds from properties

Plymouth mortgage broker Ocean Equity Release has been recognised with a top industry award.

The business specialises in helping homeowners over the age of 55 to release funds from their property, in order to help repay debts or to purchase a new property.

The firm, based on Whimple Road in the centre of the Devon port city, has now been crowned ‘Best Small Equity Release Firm in the 海角视频 2022' at the Later Life Lending Awards.

The awards are organised by one of the industry’s largest companies, Air, which has more than 8,000 members.

Ocean Equity Release’s managing director Stuart Powell, who founded the firm in 2018 after 20 years working in the financial services industry, said the business was “thrilled” to win a national award.

The company said it had seen a “huge increase” over the last few years in equity release activity.

It added it expected the current cost-of-living crisis to contribute to more homeowners over the age of 55 to consider exploring an equity release as a financial solution.
