IN PICTURES: Leicestershire Law Society hosts networking event for Leicester professionals

Organised in collaboration with professional trade bodies the ICAEW, the ACCA and ATT/CIOT

Society president Glynis Wright, left, said the group was set up to forge closer professional links

More than 100 guests attended a new networking group for members of Leicestershire’s professional services.

Lawyers, tax specialists and accountants joined the first Matrix Professional Network hosted by Leicestershire Law Society.

The event took place at the New Walk, Leicester headquarters of national wealth management business Mattioli Woods.

It was organised in collaboration with professional trade bodies the ICAEW, the ACCA and ATT/CIOT.

Law society president Glynis Wright said the group was set up to forge closer professional links in an informal setting whilst relaxing with fizz and canapes.

She gave the welcoming speech at the event, which included a performance from 18-year-old singer Kara Hamer, as well as jazz through the night from saxophonist Chris Dunkley.

Ms Wright said tickets were sold out days before the event, raising more than £500 for charities Alex’s Wish and The Travers Foundation.

A spokeswoman for the law society said: “Whilst the key purpose of the event is to create synergy between professions, it will also be used as an opportunity to raise money for a chosen charity and will be creating opportunities for rising stars in our community to showcase their talents as singers, musicians and performers.
