A Newcastle public relations agency has welcomed two new employees and moved to new premises, following a number of client wins.
McBryde & Co, specialising in business to business PR and content marketing, was launched by founder and director Rachel McBryde in September 2019. In 2020, it recruited former CIPR Young Communicator of the Year Ruth Edmundson as an account manager and now Jodie Balmer and Eve Daly have joined the team.
Senior PR and content manager Ms Balmer brings a wealth of experience acquired over a decade in marketing, public relations and social media, having worked at agencies including W North and Havas Red in Melbourne as well as at NGI Solutions. Content executive Eve Daly graduated from Newcastle University in July 2021 and has experience working at regional media outlets including Living North.

Jeanette Henderson has joined chartered accountants and business advisers Waltons Clark Whitehill.
Having been with Gus Robinson Developments for the past 39 years, latterly in the role of finance director, Ms Henderson has joined the Hartlepool Marina-based team after deciding to rethink her decision of early retirement.
She said: “After spending so long with my previous employer, it could have been daunting to join a new place of work, but it hasn’t been. I came here to be part of a team I already had a strong relationship with, a firm whose values reflect those which I have been accustomed to for almost 40 years.”

Solicitor Rosie Lovett is taking the next step forward in her career after joining North East law firm Hay & Kilner.
Ms Lovett has moved into a new role with the Newcastle-headquartered firm’s commercial litigation and dispute resolution team, and is working as a specialist in managing contentious probate situations.
She moved to the North East to study for a law degree at Northumbria University before deciding to stay and practice in the region after completing her legal qualifications.
She says: “Hay & Kilner has a strong reputation in this area of the law, and being part of a full service law firm provides plenty of opportunities to get involved with a wide range of different projects. The team has been really welcoming and it’s great to be part of such a well-respected North East practice.”
Land and property group George F. White has made several key senior appointments following strong growth across the region.
The firm has appointed Matthew Bell as partner leading tax related advice in their commercial team. His appointment is part of the firm’s strategic growth plan which is further supported by the promotion of Craig Ross to equity partner and Caroline Horn to partner.

Commercial Maintenance Services (CMS) 海角视频 Ltd has appointed Adam Bartle to the newly created position of head of renewables as it looks to grow its energy saving and carbon reduction services.
Experienced in the commercial and industrial facilities maintenance sector, he is tasked with creating a strategy that enables the business to meet the rising demand for renewable energy technology.
Mr Bartle, who is also managing CMS’ Electrical team, said: “The major hotel chains and the healthcare sector are currently leading the demand for EV charging stations.

Independent technology consultancy Opencast has strengthened its senior leadership team with two board-level appointments, as it ramps up its ambitious expansion plans.
Earlier this year the Newcastle company announced a major recruitment drive that will take the Opencast team up to 200 people by the end of 2021, as part of an ambitious plan to more than treble in size by 2025, to enable the company to tackle larger and more complex client challenges.
To build senior capacity for the growing demand for its services, and respond to the needs of its own people, Opencast has appointed a new chief technology officer in Lee Foster, and a new chief people officer in Cate Kalson.
