Property regeneration consultants AspinallVerdi have boosted their regional presence with the appointment of Alasdair Ritchie in Newcastle.
Mr Ritchie joins as a consultant having worked as a graduate development surveyor for Advance Northumberland and housebuilder Taylor Wimpey.
Operating from the AspinallVerdi office at The Core, Bath Lane, Newcastle Helix, he will work with director Brett Devenish to support existing work in the North East for Homes England, Northumberland County Council, and Tees Valley Combined Authority and attract new clients.
Mr Devenish said: “Alasdair’s appointment and securing our new office at The Core is a sign of our commitment to further establishing AspinallVerdi in Newcastle and the wider North East. Savills has appointed Mark Scott as talent and recruitment partner in the firm’s rural, energy and projects (REP) division.
He joins as an associate director and will be responsible for developing and delivering a 海角视频-wide recruitment strategy, which supports the growth of the REP business from his base in the Savills Newcastle office.
Mr Scott has more than nine years’ experience in HR and recruitment having worked for a FTSE 100 global tech organisation, a fintech unicorn and an international gaming company.
He said: “My passion for recruitment started many years ago, when it became clear that bringing in talented people has a direct correlation with how a business performs. That’s what really excites me and makes me want to find and nurture talented people to help strengthen a business.”

Energi Coast, North East England’s offshore wind cluster, has announced Caroline Lofthouse as cluster manager.
Ms Lofthouse is a highly experienced energy sector business development specialist and has worked with the cluster group since it was founded in 2011 through her roles at NOF, the business development organisation that developed and delivers Energi Coast activities.
She will work closely with Energi Coast chair Tony Quinn and the cluster organisations to deliver its strategy to showcase the supply chain capabilities of North East England, support innovation and skills development alongside helping to attract inward investment to the region.

National law firm Weightmans has welcomed its first cohort of apprentice solicitors to its apprenticeship academy, which allows school leavers to qualify as a solicitor and gain a law degree while working, as applications open for its 2022 and 2023 schemes.
The 13 new starters - three of whom are based in the North East - will gain experience working across each of the firm’s legal departments, and will also benefit from placement opportunities in key service areas such as finance, HR and marketing, and Weightmans’ innovation department.
Overall, the programme will last for six years, and the apprentices will be fully qualified by 2027, obtaining an LLB in Law and Legal Practice, as well as completing their Solicitor Qualifying Exams (SQE).

Planning and design consultancy Barton Willmore has appointed Stuart Natkus as partner.
In his former role as planning director, he delivered many high-profile planning projects across the North East and Yorkshire, including Gateshead BIG, Throckley and Kibblesworth. He has helped to deliver thousands of new homes and significant commercial developments across the regions.
