Tyneside software company Waymark is toasting its 10th anniversary with a business refresh and the appointment of three key members of staff.

Waymark, in Gateshead, has introduced a new brand and launched a new website, while appointing Andrew Blacklock, who was Waymark’s first recruit back in 2011, as software development director.

The company has also recruited new chief innovation officer Matt Atkinson and sales development rep Karllie McBurnie.

David Brophy, Waymark’s CEO, said: “With these important appointments and our new branding and website we’re set fair for further growth and we’re already looking for two further software developers.”

Durham-based architect Howarth Litchfield is expanding with eight new staff members while recruiting for three more after a buoyant start to 2021.

Daniel Jones has joined the team as an associate architect, Joseph Lythgoe as a building surveyor, Olivia Chisholm as an interior designer and Martin O’Connor as a senior architectural technologist. They are joined by a further two Part 2 architectural assistants, Hannah Angus and Ashleigh Peacock and two Part 1 architectural assistants, Callum Harker and Rachel Moberly.

Managing director and architect Jonathan Yates said: “Because we were quickly able to modify our working practices and due to the increased demand for our services in the last twelve months, we have been able to grow the team, despite the pandemic. We are now phasing our teams’ return to work and plan to have everyone back in the office by September.”
