Silverstone Building Consultancy has announced two promotions at its Newcastle office. Gavin Walker and Martin Bradley have been promoted from chartered building surveyors to senior chartered building surveyors. Mr Bradley has 16 years’ surveying experience and Mr Walker has 11.
Mr Walker said: “It’s great for your hard work to be acknowledged and appreciated. I am looking forward to being more involved in not just delivery but the winning of work and having more responsibility as a senior member of the team.”
Mr Bradley said: “Our promotions reflect the company’s continued growth with some long-standing clients and also new clients who are giving us repeat work. This has resulted in good opportunities for members of the team to gain experience and advance in their careers.”

Renewable energy developer OnPath Energy has appointed Nicky Gallagher as its new director of human resources. Ms Gallagher brings more than three decades’ industry experience to her new role, where she is responsible for devising and delivering OnPath’s people strategy. Over the last decade, she has fulfilled pan-European and global HR positions and moves to OnPath Energy from her role as head of HR for suspended ceiling manufacturer Zentia, where she supported colleagues based across 11 European countries.
She said: “The broad experience I’ve had working within a ‘carve out’ business and delivering change management programmes is highly relevant to OnPath Energy’s future growth strategy. The challenge of establishing OnPath as a fully independent business really appealed to me, and there’s a huge opportunity to achieve a great deal here as part of a highly-skilled, passionate team that’s committed to working for the common good. National water retailer Wave has appointed two new hires. The Durham company has appointed Pamela Nast as director of operations and Ben Kershaw as head of metering.

Ms Nast joins the team with a wealth of industry experience with brands including Evian, Talk Talk and Shell Energy. Property consultancy Eddisons has appointed valuation specialist Dan Nicholson to its Newcastle team as an associate director. Mr Nicholson is returning to his native North East after spending over five years in London working for South East-based property firm Glenny.
With almost 15 years’ property industry experience, Mr Nicholson specialises in land and property valuation across a range of sectors for secured lending, accounting and purchase or disposals.
He said: “It’s good to be back in the north and I’m excited to reconnect with familiar faces in the industry up here. I’m looking forward to the challenge of using the skills and experience I’ve honed in London in my new role with Eddisons to make a genuine impact in the North East region that I know so well.”
North East law firm Muckle LLP has strengthened its dispute resolution team with a newly qualified solicitor. Georgia Barber, who joined Muckle on a training contract in 2022, completed a history degree at Newcastle University before studying a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) and a Legal Practice Course (LPC) at Northumbria University. Her recent qualification builds on previous experience as a commercial paralegal at Premier League club, Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club, where she worked on transfer and loan agreements, player contracts, consumer ticketing terms and conditions and a variety of sponsorship agreements.
She said: “From my previous experience and my commercial seat, I know that I thoroughly enjoy commercial law as a practice area, however, working in the disputes team enables me to practice commercial law within fast-paced litigation, which I decided was the perfect fit for my career moving forward.”
