People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions

Ryecroft Glenton Corporate Finance (RGCF) has strengthened its senior team with the appointment of new corporate finance director Jen Bassyouni.

Joining Newcastle-based RGCF from Deloitte in London, Ms Bassyouni has almost a decade of corporate finance experience providing transactional advice and support to shareholders of privately owned businesses, corporates and PE funds. Originally from Canada, she started in the sector as a manager in the finance transformation division of Deloitte in Alberta. She moved to the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ with Deloitte in 2018 and during her career with Deloitte she has been involved in transactions in sectors such as luxury consumer goods, retail and technology, in the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and internationally.

Ms Bassyouni said: “I am very excited by this new opportunity to join an agile, driven CF boutique, which has built a superb track record for the delivery of significant M&A transactions and exceptional advice for its clients. After several years of working in London, I’m really looking forward to being part of a team based in Newcastle, that advises clients nationally, and experiencing life and work in a new part of the º£½ÇÊÓÆµ.”

Healthwatch Gateshead and Healthwatch Newcastle have appointed two new members of the team. Courtney Peel, from Ashington, has been appointed as the business services manager to manage day to day administration, policies and procedures and data protection.

Lewis Brown, from Newcastle, has been appointed to the role of information and communication officer, in which he will be responsible for developing and implementing the communication strategy to raise awareness of local Healthwatch initiatives, update information on the website, manage social media channels and coordinate marketing and PR activities.

Yvonne Probert, CEO of Tell Us North (CIC), which oversees Healthwatch Gateshead and Healthwatch Newcastle, said: “We have added two very talented people to our team, and we look forward to seeing them making a positive difference within the organisation. They add new skills and expertise to our experienced and growing team.”

North East electrical test and measurement specialist Seaward Electronic Ltd has appointed Amy Lyons to oversee its global brand and business development. Ms Lyons joins the Peterlee firm as international business development manager in a move that will see her working alongside the senior management and sales teams to open up new routes and markets. With 20 years of experience and expertise in sales and marketing, product management and electrical engineering to the position, Ms Lyons is rejoining Seaward, and says she sees significant opportunities ahead.
