Newcastle environmental consultancy Biodiverse Consulting has expanded its operation by appointing a new ecologist to run a new satellite office.
Alex Rosenfeld has been hired to bolster the company’s capabilities and cater to its growing client base in the south. He said: “I had heard great things about Biodiverse Consulting and its strong portfolio of clients, so to be joining the team just as environmental legislation is changing feels incredibly exciting. With the company strengthening its presence in the south, my Brighton base makes me well placed to support this area of business growth. My specialism is in birds and with bird season around the corner, I can’t wait to get started.”

Bergen Logistics, part of Elanders Group, has appointed Mark Lancaster as its supply chain operations manager. Mr Lancaster will manage the day-to-day operation at Bergen Logistics’ base on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate, which opened 12 months ago. He has 18 years’ experience and has worked in two of the big three retailers in logistics and supply chain including one of the largest pharmaceutical delivery businesses in Europe.
He said: “I will be working with our dedicated team to enhance our operations and deliver exceptional results. Our goal is not just to meet industry standards, but to set them, striving for recognition as a ‘best in class’ operation. My focus will be on fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, within the team.”
Newcastle based PSC Consulting has appointed James Drummond as managing director of its European operations. He joins the firm from his role as managing director of engineering consultancy firm PDi Ltd. He has held leadership roles which have played a pivotal role in identifying emerging technologies.
Bosses at PSC said Mr Drummond’s strategic vision for implementing AI and advanced analytics will support the firm’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to its clients.

Sunderland wealth management company Northern Spire has appointed Deborah Telfer as its new managing director. For the last seven years Ms Telfer has been Northern Spire’s director of operations, and she has more than 30 years of experience in the financial services sector.
She spent nearly 15 years at Sunderland accountancy firm Jennings Johnson, which became part of the Tenon Group in 2001. She went on to gain experience as a paraplanner and an office manager at other financial advisors before joining Northern Spire in 2017.

Gosforth law firm Sweeney Miller has added to its commercial property and private client departments with the appointment of solicitors Matthew Smith and Sarah McColl. Senior property solicitor Mr Smith joins from a local firm where he spent nine years developing experience in the industry, helping commercial and private clients with all aspects of property law.

Ms McColl joins the firm as private client solicitor after 12 years at another leading local firm, where she trained and qualified. Having also worked in residential conveyancing, she now specialises in Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney, and probate matters and will support the firm’s successful wills, trusts and estates department.

Newcastle law firm Muckle LLP has appointed a newly qualified solicitor. Melissa Henderson has recently qualified into the Muckle corporate team, where she will be assisting partner Anthony Evans on corporate transactions including share and asset acquisitions, reorganisations and share schemes.
Ms Henderson completed an M Law Exempting course at Northumbria University and qualified with the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) route through a combination of qualifying work experience and sitting the SQE 2 exam through the University of Law whilst working at Muckle as a paralegal. Prior to Muckle, she also worked as a supervising paralegal at an international law firm where she gained experience in banking transactions, data subject access requests and a range of corporate litigation matters.
She said: “Muckle has been fantastic right from the beginning. I’ve had the opportunity to engage in a variety of transactions from start to finish, and I’m really excited to delve into some interesting and complex acquisitions.
