People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions

Newcastle environmental consultancy Biodiverse Consulting has expanded its operation by appointing a new ecologist to run a new satellite office.

Alex Rosenfeld has been hired to bolster the company’s capabilities and cater to its growing client base in the south. He said: “I had heard great things about Biodiverse Consulting and its strong portfolio of clients, so to be joining the team just as environmental legislation is changing feels incredibly exciting. With the company strengthening its presence in the south, my Brighton base makes me well placed to support this area of business growth. My specialism is in birds and with bird season around the corner, I can’t wait to get started.”

Vicki Mordue, founder and director of the firm, said: “Alex joins us at a pivotal moment for our industry and we can’t wait to unveil more growth plans in the not-so-distant future.”

Bergen Logistics, part of Elanders Group, has appointed Mark Lancaster as its supply chain operations manager. Mr Lancaster will manage the day-to-day operation at Bergen Logistics’ base on the Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate, which opened 12 months ago. He has 18 years’ experience and has worked in two of the big three retailers in logistics and supply chain including one of the largest pharmaceutical delivery businesses in Europe.

He said: “I will be working with our dedicated team to enhance our operations and deliver exceptional results. Our goal is not just to meet industry standards, but to set them, striving for recognition as a ‘best in class’ operation. My focus will be on fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, within the team.”

Newcastle based PSC Consulting has appointed James Drummond as managing director of its European operations. He joins the firm from his role as managing director of engineering consultancy firm PDi Ltd. He has held leadership roles which have played a pivotal role in identifying emerging technologies.

Bosses at PSC said Mr Drummond’s strategic vision for implementing AI and advanced analytics will support the firm’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge solutions to its clients.

He said: “Like all of the PSC senior management, I am passionate about the energy transition and very much aligned with PSC’s vision to power a sustainable world. PSC is at the forefront of supporting clients through the energy transition, and I’m eager to contribute to the company’s success and foster the exceptional talent within our ranks.”
