Seriös Group has appointed Michelle Crosby as operations manager.
Before joining the Newcastle data specialist, Ms Crosby was a director in EY’s technology consulting practice in digital and emerging technology, and she has previously worked for IT firm DXC Technology and international computing giant HP. Her new role will see her focus on the growth of the firm with responsibilities including recruitment, financial operations, resourcing, operational improvements, delivery support, compliance, and audits.
She said: “After decades of working for large-scale global corporations, I was immediately attracted to the role here at Seriös Group. Being able to bring my years of industry experience and help the business in realising our ambition and growth potential is incredibly exciting.”

Newcastle digital agency Bonded has added six new staff to the team following a year of growth. The company has welcomed Bert Van Eetvelde, Abi Simons, Freya Wilson, Nikki Alcorn, Craig McMenemy and Renee Fraser-Shepherd on the back of a number of new client wins, which has also seen it open a new Edinburgh office.

Wallsend subsea engineering and technology company SMD has appointed Lee Hammond as its digital development manager. Mr Hammond has more than a decade of experience in digital transformation.
SMD’s technical director Paul Atkinson said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Lee into our growing team. He brings with him a wealth of experience in planning and implementing cutting-edge digital solutions, which he will use to support our ambitious growth plans.”

Accountancy and business advisory firm Johnston Carmichael has appointed Glen Small as VAT and indirect tax director, a year after joining as a senior manager. Based in Newcastle, where the firm opened a city centre office early this year, Mr Small works with clients across key sectors, including construction and property, engineering and manufacturing, energy, infrastructure and sustainability (EIS) and financial services.

Nepo has appointed Georgia Smithson and Joe Taylor to support its new e-portal Open, ahead of its full roll-out next year. Ms Smithson and Mr Taylor have taken on roles as customer service coordinators for Open, which will streamline the tendering process to help suppliers find and bid for public procurement opportunities.
Ms Smithson, who was previously a project manager at University of Sunderland, will focus on system testing and user training. Mr Taylor, meanwhile, brings data administration experience to his role.
