People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions of the week

Seriös Group has appointed Michelle Crosby as operations manager.

Before joining the Newcastle data specialist, Ms Crosby was a director in EY’s technology consulting practice in digital and emerging technology, and she has previously worked for IT firm DXC Technology and international computing giant HP. Her new role will see her focus on the growth of the firm with responsibilities including recruitment, financial operations, resourcing, operational improvements, delivery support, compliance, and audits.

She said: “After decades of working for large-scale global corporations, I was immediately attracted to the role here at Seriös Group. Being able to bring my years of industry experience and help the business in realising our ambition and growth potential is incredibly exciting.”

Newcastle digital agency Bonded has added six new staff to the team following a year of growth. The company has welcomed Bert Van Eetvelde, Abi Simons, Freya Wilson, Nikki Alcorn, Craig McMenemy and Renee Fraser-Shepherd on the back of a number of new client wins, which has also seen it open a new Edinburgh office.

Wallsend subsea engineering and technology company SMD has appointed Lee Hammond as its digital development manager. Mr Hammond has more than a decade of experience in digital transformation.

SMD’s technical director Paul Atkinson said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Lee into our growing team. He brings with him a wealth of experience in planning and implementing cutting-edge digital solutions, which he will use to support our ambitious growth plans.”

Mr Hammond added: “As the demand for SMD’s pioneering services continues to grow, the role of technology is becoming increasingly crucial. By streamlining internal processes and focussing on cross-platform development, I’ll ensure its digital infrastructure is primed for continued expansion.”
