People on the move: key North East appointments and promotions

Recruitment firm Coleman James has made several new appointments to its building services, civil engineering and construction divisions. The firm, which has offices in Newcastle, Doncaster and London, has hired Lauren Robson and Jordan Forster as civil engineering senior consultants.

Abigail Lincoln has joined as a construction senior consultant and Ben Bishop has joined the building services division as a delivery consultant. Founder and managing director, Andrew Mackay, said: “We are delighted to welcome the new team members to our Newcastle office. Confident, experienced and credible, each individual is a mature, high-calibre professional we’re excited to have onboard.

iamproperty has appointed a former leader at marketplace eBay and MoneySupermarket as its group chairman.

Mark Lewis brings a successful track record of leading businesses with a tech focus, having acted as managing director of eBay º£½ÇÊÓÆµ, scaling the online auction business to become a major force in º£½ÇÊÓÆµ retail. As retail director on the board of John Lewis, he also helped grow the business to become a multi-channel operation.

He was previously CEO of MoneySupermarket Group plc, helping to growing the price comparison business, and he is currently a non-executive director for both Santander º£½ÇÊÓÆµ and Direct Line Group plc, and a Trustee of The Photographers’ Gallery.

The appointment follows the announcement of Perwyn as iamproperty’s new Private Equity partner last month. Mr Lewis: “I am impressed by how iamproperty has successfully disrupted the property industry to bring more speed and security for both Estate Agents and consumers. What the founders Ben and Jamie have built is already impressive, with innovative modern auction solutions based on strong technology and a fantastic service proposition.”

Stef Monaco, head of social impact at Opencast

Newcastle technology consultancy Opencast has appointed Stef Monaco as head of social impact. Ms Monaco joined Opencast as a service design lead in the summer of last year, before taking up the newly-created role last month. She joined Opencast from the Ministry of Justice, where she was a senior service designer.
